10 things to do when you’re bored at home

You know when the weekend is winding down and Sunday boredom starts to set in? This feeling is common for many people, which is why we’ve created a mini guide with 10 things to do when you find yourself bored at home.

01.

Organize your space

Start by organizing your under-sink drawers; they may hold things you don’t even remember exist and, in many cases, expired items. Throw away what’s no longer usable and keep only what you need.

02.

Review your social media

Review your social media accounts. When we do this, we often realize we follow many accounts we no longer like or that no longer make sense in our lives. Unfollow some people and/or mute stories that don’t do you much good.

03.

Create a Happy List

Write down on a piece of paper all the things that make you happy. This is called a “happy list,” and you can include up to 100 things that bring you joy. That way, when you’re not feeling so great, you can pick something from your happy list.

04.

Make a contact list

Still in the list section, make a list of people you want to have more contact with in your life. Think of the people you love, coworkers, childhood friends… This list is great for helping you stay connected with the people who really matter to you!

05.

Start life planning

Plan and outline a medium-term life plan. Where do you want to be in 2 or 5 years? What do you need to do to achieve that goal? Putting it on paper makes it much easier to see that reaching your objectives doesn’t have to be impossible.

06.

Organize your closet

Remember that closet organization you’ve been putting off for days? This is the perfect time to roll up your sleeves. Pick out the clothes you haven’t worn in 6 months or more, sort out what no longer fits, and set them aside for donation.

07.

Practice self-affirmation

It’s normal to need a positive internal dialogue, and positive affirmations can help bring more confidence, optimism, and courage throughout the day (and life!).

08.

Try new recipes

Venture into the kitchen and try new recipes! Search online for recipes of your favorite dishes and attempt to recreate them at home. If it turns out well, start jotting them down in a little notebook to keep forever.

09.

Practice self-awareness

Look for self-discovery tests online that can help you learn a bit more about yourself, such as the intelligence test that reveals our best way to learn anything.

10.

Go for a walk

Hit play on your favorite podcast and go for a walk around the neighborhood. Besides discovering new streets and breathing in fresh air, use this time to reflect on happy moments you’ve had and on the goals you plan to achieve this year.
