Just one glance at Carol Dias’s feed is enough to understand what led her to become an inspiration for over 800,000 people. Born and raised in Goiânia, the entrepreneur and influencer began her career at 15 when she started modeling with Ford and, as with many things in life, it happened serendipitously. Only a week after being discovered during a shopping mall stroll, Carol was already embarking on her first international trip to kick-start her career.

Now 26 years old, the mother of little Esther, who at just over one year old is the darling of the Dias Leite family and brings joy to life and to the Instagram timelines of thousands of people. Alongside motherhood, the model also faces the challenge of running her own brand together with her best friend, Maria Clara. Founded from scratch in 2019, CHOISIR brings modernity, timelessness and daring to women around the world.

Amid her trip to Dubai, Carol Dias spoke with Lifestyle Mag to share a little more about her journeys and details of her personal life.

Lifestyle Mag: How did the desire to create a brand from scratch come about?

Carol Dias: I’ve always wanted to. My mother has a degree in fashion design and during my childhood she would sketch clothes for me, buy the fabric and have them made. After I got married, I took a break from modeling work and as soon as I found out I was expecting Esther, I decided that this would be my next professional venture: launching a brand where I can create, learn to be an entrepreneur and develop in various areas.

LM: Where does the inspiration for creating new pieces come from?

CD: My inspirations come from the trips I take, the time I spend with my daughter, the memories I have with my mother in her triple role as a fashion student, a working professional and still a super homemaker. My friends and my business partner are a great source of inspiration for the brand; they comment on everything, give ideas, show references and are always up to date!

“Be inspired and be an inspiration to always deliver a good message. Choose your partners wisely, don’t do everything for money, don’t deceive people for money.”

LM: What do you do in your free time?

CD: Free time more or less, right? Haha. I haven’t known what it is to have free time since I got married and my daughter was born. In my “free” time, I manage my household, take care of our family routine and meet their needs.

LM: Speaking a little more about fashion, what type of style do you admire today?

CD: I like the different; I’ve always liked it and for that reason I’ve had many styles in different phases of my life. The fashionista style enchants me, but it doesn’t always fit my current routine that demands a lot of practicality, so I live trying to balance myself between a more practical and timeless style and a more fashionista and creative one.

LM: What advice do you give to achieve a personal style?

CD: Know yourself; what I find beautiful on another person won’t always suit me. I advocate seeking pieces that flatter you, discovering your color palette can help a lot, organizing your wardrobe and staying attentive by removing what you don’t wear will also help you better understand which path to follow.

LM: Do you usually wear a lot of makeup in your daily life? What’s your relationship with makeup like?

CD: I use little makeup, a small amount on my skin, but I use it almost every day: concealer, blush, mascara and a good lip balm. I’m not one to go bold with makeup, but I would love to learn more about self-makeup.

LM: Is there any skincare product you can’t live without? Any tip you’d like to share with our readers?

CD: Always wash your face before going to bed and drink plenty of water! There’s no secret! A healthy life directly reflects on your body.

LM: What has changed in your life since you became a mother?

CD: Everything! I married young and despite always being very responsible, I was quite a tomboy, but after my daughter’s birth, a huge mental and emotional transformation happened in my life that brought me a stronger and more self-assured attitude overall.

LM: What is your best childhood memory?

CD: Walking barefoot on dirt, riding horses in the pasture, milking cows, collecting eggs in the chicken coop, cleaning fish at the pond, being close to my grandparents, feasting with family and a big, crowded family around a table.

LM: You clearly travel a lot, what’s your favorite place in the world?

CD: My favorite place in the world is always wherever my family is! It doesn’t matter the location! I love traveling, I adore learning, I’m super curious, I ask and want to know every detail about cultures, but lately I’ve also loved being at home and returning to my bed, my shower and my daughter’s toy mess.

LM: Which city is it that you always want to return to, no matter when?

CD: Israel, it has a different energy, it is a balm for my faith, the food is wonderful and besides the historical part there are also plenty of events and incredible landscapes.

LM: What is your favorite place for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

CD: The most delicious breakfast I’ve ever had was in Mexico at Rosewood Mayakoba. The perfect lunch was at Piazza Duomo in Italy. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant I love most in the world, Novikov in London!
