When choosing where to stay in Taormina, I recommend two hotels from the Vretreats chain: the Mazzarò Sea Palace and the Atlantis Bay. Each offers a unique experience, and each has its own distinct identity!
The Mazzarò Sea Palace has a classic, older style that evokes the golden age of Sicily. The environment is elegant and sophisticated, with an atmosphere that can transport you to another era. The great advantage is access to a private beach, which also leads to the famous Belmond Sant’Andrea, which is definitely worth a visit!
The Atlantis Bay, on the other hand, is a hidden gem with access to another private beach that no other hotel has. This hotel is more exclusive and offers a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. The décor is modern yet always welcoming, creating a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the incredible view.
The gastronomy at Atlantis Bay is a marvel in itself. I loved the pasta, the pizza, I tried the fish and the Tagliata Di Manzo, and each dish was an explosion of flavors. The chef is excellent, ensuring that every meal was an unforgettable culinary experience!

As the name suggests, there you can find one of the best tiramisù in Italy, and on top of that the maccherone is delicious, and the pistachio panna cotta—I was hesitant to choose it, but after ordering I loved it! The menu brings together the best of authentic Sicilian cuisine and adds a modern, contemporary touch, offering a variety of delicious dishes that will surely be appreciated by all tastes.

They serve fish selected on the spot; I had a local fish, and it was the best thing in the world! My suggestion is to choose local, lesser-known restaurants so you can experience Taormina in a much more authentic way. And speaking of authenticity, the menu is a celebration of traditional Sicilian cuisine, with authentic dishes prepared using high-quality local ingredients. From handmade pastas to fresh seafood, every dish is a delight, not to mention that it’s an experience in itself.
The restaurant is located at Via Naumachia, 21, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

Visitors can try here one of Sicily’s most famous local treats, the granita, which is a frozen dessert made from almond, almond milk, pistachio, or strawberry—it’s wonderful. It’s an essential stop for lovers of frozen sweets. The shop is already iconic and famous for its delicious, authentic Sicilian granitas. The classic flavors are lemon and almond, but they also offer more creative combinations. The cozy atmosphere and the city’s charming view make the experience even more special.
