Capri is not just a destination — it’s an atmosphere. An island where time seems to slow down just so you can better notice the color of the sea, the scent of lemon, the tone of voice of rocks warmed by the sun. Every time I return, it feels like I’m reuniting with a part of myself that exists only there.
Many people go to Capri seeking luxury, beach clubs, starred restaurants — and yes, all of that is there. But what no one tells you is that the real Capri begins in the details. On the narrow path where taxis can’t pass, with the gentleman who carries your suitcase on an electric cart, at the lunch that stretches into the afternoon. And that’s what this list is about: my favorite places, my rituals, my breaths. A very personal map of the island that I never fail to visit.
To reach the island, you must fly to Naples (Napoli). From the airport, there are two main ways to get to Capri:
• Private boat: the most comfortable and luxurious option, ideal for groups or those seeking privacy. The trip takes about 40 minutes and costs around €2,000 to €2,500. I did the Ischia–Capri route with a company called Gyosymar Ischia, but they offer tours throughout the Ischia, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Procida, and Napoli areas. Their IG is @giosymarischiacharter
• Hydrofoil (aliscafi): a more economical and faster option. Boats depart from Molo Beverello port, take about 50 minutes, and cost between €60 and €70 per person.
Important: book in advance, especially in summer.
Upon disembarking at the Capri port (Marina Grande) and taking a taxi to the island’s town center — the charming Piazzetta Umberto I, marked by the famous clock tower — you’ll soon discover that hotels are not accessible by car. Here’s the essential detail: use the porter service.
These professionals transport your luggage on motorized carts through the island’s narrow lanes. Many hotels arrange this, but if you’re renting a house or don’t have it included, don’t hesitate: hire a porter at the port. It will save your arrival — and your experience.
One of the most sophisticated five-star hotels in Capri, JK Place sits on the edge of Marina Grande with direct sea views. The decor is classic with modern touches, the service is impeccable, and breakfast served on the terrace is unforgettable.
Fun fact: the hotel’s pool is crafted from white marble quarried on Mount Solaro itself.

With over 150 years of history, Quisisana is the island’s most traditional hotel. Located in the heart of Capri near Via Camerelle, it exudes pure Italian charm.
Fun fact: it has hosted everyone from Audrey Hepburn to Tom Cruise.

Recently renovated, La Palma is the newest luxury hotel in Capri and now part of the exclusive The Oetker Collection. Modern, minimalist, and elegant, it brings a contemporary touch to the island’s historic center.
Fun fact: it’s the island’s oldest hotel, founded in 1822 — and now completely revamped.
Via Vittorio Emanuele, 39, 80073 Capri NA, Italy
Perhaps the most famous of all, La Fontelina is the beach club at the foot of the Faraglioni. The blue-striped loungers, the simple yet delicious restaurant, the crystal-clear sea: everything is a dream.
Tip: book weeks in advance.
Località Faraglioni, 80073 Capri NA, Italy
Simpler, but equally charming. Da Luigi is beloved by locals and by those seeking a more authentic Capri vibe.
Fun fact: it was the first beach club on the island to feature a wood-fired oven kitchen.
Via Faraglioni, 5, Capri
Part of the Capri Palace, Il Riccio is young, sophisticated, and vibrant. The view is cinematic, the drinks are perfect, and the restaurant is Michelin-starred.
Fun fact: the “Sweet Room” offers a selection of desserts presented as an art installation.
Via Gradola, 4, Anacapri
A few steps from the Piazzetta, Villa Verde features one of the island’s most beautiful gardens, with tables beneath grapevines and lemon trees. The pizza is paper-thin, the fish always fresh, and the atmosphere lively without being noisy.
Tip: order the spaghetti with clams and save room for the tiramisu.
Via Pietro Capasso, 80073 Capri
A true sensory experience. Tables under centennial lemon trees, dishes that exalt Southern Italy’s ingredients, and a wine list that reads like a poem.
Fun fact: the lemon dessert is made with fruit picked right next to your table.
Via Palazzo a Mare, 11, 80073 Capri
A two-Michelin-star restaurant within the Capri Palace, L’Olivo is pure sophistication. The dishes reinterpret Neapolitan cuisine with artistic precision.
Tip: order the tasting menu with wine pairing — and prepare to be moved.
Via Capodimonte, 14, Anacapri
Simplicity, authenticity, and views. A restaurant tucked among the rocks with sea views, where every dish is made with love. Try the spaghetti al limone — perhaps the best of your life.
Fun fact: the restaurant only operates from April to October and closes on windy nights due to its cliff-side location.
Via Arco Naturale, 3, 80073 Capri
If you were looking for a guide to the best hotels, beach clubs, and restaurants in Capri, I hope this list is more than useful — that it serves as a starting point for creating your own stories on the island. After all, Capri is that kind of place: where luxury meets simplicity and each turn reveals something to be savored slowly.
With love,
