Bvlgari meets Geraldine Guyot in the reinvention of the Serpentine
Scheduled to debut in the Fall/Winter 2025/26 season, the launch collection comes to life under the creative direction of Mary Katrantzou
Bvlgari unveils a new chapter in its fashion journey with an unprecedented collaboration alongside Geraldine Guyot, creative director of the maison DESTREE. The partnership kicks off the “Serpenti in Conversation” series, conceived under the artistic direction of Mary Katrantzou, and presents itself as the natural evolution of the collaborative platform “Serpenti Through the Eyes Of,” launched in 2017. Slated to debut in the Fall/Winter 2025/26 season, the collection not only celebrates the Serpenti legacy but also redefines its lines for the future.
In 2021, Mary Katrantzou was invited to redesign the Serpenti, introducing a precious metal handle shaped to reflect the snake’s entire body. From this, the “Serpentine” line emerged: a new translation of this Bvlgari symbol. Géraldine Guyot, when invited to participate, chose to follow the Serpentine’s lines and forms, boldly reworking the Bvlgari Serpentine Top-Handle bag, fusing 140 years of Bvlgari heritage with the youthful spirit of her own work.
The snake, ever in constant change, is a multifaceted emblem symbolizing renewal, immortality, and duality, all present in the ongoing reinterpretation and reimagining of Bvlgari’s future legacy. As its own inspiration, Serpenti, a Pillar of the Maison, is in constant evolution, transforming to reinvent itself time and again.
With the S-shaped line inspired by the snake, the handle silhouette is reinvented and fused with passementerie, artisanal details that are DESTREE’s signature. The passementerie also connects with Bvlgari’s heritage, previously used as delicate ribbons to hang pendants and necklaces in the 20th century. Executed as an innovative technique that merges metal and electricity to achieve lightness and precision, its cords are reinterpreted as exuberant curvilinear metal details. The Serpentine is offered in tactile nubuck leather and satin, luxurious materials that contrast with the bag’s preciousness.
Through a fresh perspective and diverse dialogues, SERPENTI IN CONVERSATION is guided by Mary Katrantzou’s vision as Creative Director of Leather Goods and Accessories, positioning Bvlgari as a platform that engages new generations of talent and continues a legacy of innovation, experimentation, and creative exchange.
