Emily in Paris: the location hotspots

If you’re on the Internet, you’ve surely heard about the busy life of Emily Cooper portrayed in the series “Emily in Paris” on Netflix. The series, which premiered in October 2020, is a hit for all the drama, romance, and adventures the protagonist experiences in the French capital. But another reason that made the show a favorite for many people is the hotspots and iconic backdrops of the locations.

If, like many people, you also became curious to learn more about the places featured in the series, we’ve selected 6 unmissable hotspots for you to discover and add to your travel list for the next time you go to Paris.

Ristorante Terra Nera

The famous restaurant “Les Deux Compères” owned by Gabriel, where part of the romance between the chef and Emily is filmed, also exists in real life! Currently the location belongs to a bistro called “Terra Nera,” but beware: if your intention is to savor French cuisine, this is not the best place, since Terra Nera houses an Italian restaurant!

Café de Flore

At the beginning of the first season, more precisely in episode six, Emily goes on a date with Thomas, the charming and arrogant semiotics professor. The meeting takes place at Café de Flore, one of the most famous cafés in Paris.

The spot gained popularity in the 1940s when Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir began to frequent it regularly. From then on, various famous writers and painters also started to visit the place. The extremely charming and stylish café is located on Boulevard Saint-Germain.

Jardin du Palais Royale

One of the coolest meetups in the series is between Emily and Mindy, which takes place in the Jardin du Palais Royale. There, the new friends share joys, sorrows, and adventures of their lives and forge a friendship that will definitely last until the end of the series.

L’Ateliers des Lumieres

Those who watched both seasons of the series followed all the triple dates of Camille, Emily, and Gabriel. One of these meetings happened at L’Ateliers des Lumieres, a place to dive deep into Van Gogh’s paintings portrayed on every inch of the walls.

Savoir

Besides Gabriel’s restaurant, one of the places that appear most in the series is Savoir, the marketing and advertising agency where Emily works and carries out her far-fetched ideas. The location is next to the antique shop Galerie Patrick Fourtin which in itself is another place to add to your must-go list.

Savoir’s building is located on Place de Valois, just a few meters from the Louvre. Still in the midst of Emily and her friends’ work, the bar the Savoir marketing team often visits is Bristor Valois.

Montmartre

Montmartre is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Paris and therefore appears in various moments in the series. The restaurant La Maison Rose is another of the places where Emily meets Mindy. In addition, it is in this same neighborhood that one of the advertising campaigns starring Emily takes place.
