LM: Where were you born and raised?

BA: São Paulo city – married to a Carioca, but I consider myself the most Paulista possible!!!

LM: Has fashion always been a passion since childhood? If so, tell us a story that exemplifies this.

BA: Always. From a very young age I remember choosing my own clothes or stomping my foot to do so haha. While most girls my age wore puffed dresses, I went to little parties in riding-style leggings and a denim shirt. I think I was already adding my own touches when dressing up! Also – I have a very shopaholic mom, and I’ve always been her companion in this “sport” – it was trips upon trips stopping at every store and I never got tired 🙂

LM: Do you have hobbies? If so, what are they?

BA: A few. Pilates – I love it, I do it twice a week. Fashion research on random sites – if I let myself, I spend the day browsing resale platforms. Watching romantic comedies. When I travel – I like to do everything on foot – I’m tireless – anyone who’s accompanied me knows!

LM: You worked for years at a fashion brand. What was your position and what was the routine like in that role?

BA: I worked for 8 years at Mixed! I joined to launch the brand’s e-commerce – we literally started from scratch. Over the years I took on new roles – I worked as a franchise supervisor (they have stores in several states across the country), then I began helping with visual merchandising in stores – arranging the shops and window displays and taking the photos for the website … it was quite a learning experience!

LM: Today you create a lot of content around vintage pieces. Which inherited family items do you cherish the most?

BA: I’m quite attached to my vintage pieces haha – not necessarily the family ones. But the items I keep with love are my grandmother’s fur coats – and also the jewelry she had – I got married wearing her earrings!

LM: What are your top vintage stores around the world?

BA: The RealReal (USA) – not only vintage, but with affordable finds (especially online).

Amarcord Vintage (NY) – really cool curation, super vintage and unique finds.

Sand Archivio – I became friends with Alessandra (the owner) who has an incredible curation and lives in Berlin – she’s another vintage lover and goes on extensive hunts for pieces across Europe.

Cavalli e Nastri (Milan) – I discovered it last year and it’s already on my favorites list – lots of Hermès items, among other brands, I loved it.

Relik (London) – this one is different, with more WOW finds – really cool to check out too!

LM: What are your 5 favorite hotspots in Rio?

BA: Barraca Paraiso do Leblon – my go-to beach spot.

Meat pastel + strawberry açaí + custard apple juice with passion fruit from BB Lanches.

Post-beach lunch at SABOR DOC.

Dinner at Sushi Leblon.

Shopping at KI AND CO on Rainha Guilhermina, followed by a cappuccino at Q CHOCOLATE.

LM: What does no one know about Bruna Azem?

BA: Hmmm – I consider myself quite open and spontaneous – so anyone who spends time with me knows exactly how to read me… Now what no one knows (which is hard) – I think about the look I’d wear even to events I’m not necessarily attending (haha – I do this frequently). I guess that’s it 🙂
