It’s time to act: inside Jaguar Parade 2022

From September 7 to October 5, the streets of New York will feature a different artistic touch, and the reason could be none other than the Jaguar Parade NYC 2022. The outdoor exhibition with 40 jaguar sculptures designed by global artists aims to spread the message “It’s time to act.”

Jaguars currently inhabit 18 countries in Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina. Although their current range is extensive, they have been eradicated from nearly half of their historical territories. The jaguar is listed as “Near Threatened” on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.

Therefore, supported by global conservation organizations including the United Nations Environment (UNEP), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), Panthera, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Lion’s Compartilhe, the Jaguar Parade 2022 exhibition aims to raise funds and awareness about the urgent need to conserve jaguars and their habitats.

All pieces from the exhibition will be available in an online auction taking place from September 23 to October 7, and all net proceeds will be donated to help preserve jaguars.
