Where to Eat and Drink
Lure Fish Bar
Why we love it: Lure is a restaurant I love because it has a bit of everything, the place is interesting, the location is great, and the food is simply wonderful. Although it’s located in the attic, the restaurant’s concept is very intriguing and attracts a lot of people. Imagine a boat where you have to go down the stairs to access the interior; Lure was designed to give you that sensation. Remember that even though it’s very popular and reservations are always necessary, it’s a place you must visit when you’re here.
Our tips: Try the Maine Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Lychee Martini, my favorite food and drink at the restaurant.
Why we love it: Indochine always has the most important people dining there, and you can bet that when you go, it’s very likely you’ll run into a celebrity, since the place is considered a hub for these figures—especially those from the fashion and art worlds. The venue is also known as one of the official meeting spots of Andy Warhol and Jean Michel–Basquiat.
Our tips: Be sure to try the Steamed Chilean Sea Bass, and for drinks, Indochine is another perfect spot to order a Lychee Martini.
Why we love it: The restaurant has won an award for consistency, meaning it always uses the same suppliers and ingredients, which ensures you won’t have different experiences when dining there. It’s a place where both the food quality and the ambiance are guaranteed.
Why we love it: Sant Ambroeus is known for showcasing Italy in a very interesting and different way from what we’re used to, which makes it truly special. It’s frequented by influential figures in the fashion world like Anna Wintour and various models during NYFW.
Our tips: The Bolognese pasta is the standout dish on the menu of pastas, and the wine selection is also incredible and well worth ordering.
Why we love it: Cipriani Downtown offers the classic drinks from Italy’s Harry’s Bar, and all the classic dishes served at the restaurant can not only be enjoyed on-site but are also available for pickup and delivery.
Our tips: The menu favorites are the Prosciutto Cream Tagliolini, the classic Bellini sparkling cocktail, and of course, the made-to-order ice cream, which is wonderful.
Why we love it: Mamo, which has been around for almost eight years, is the best place for truffle pizza in New York. Additionally, the restaurant offers other delicious and very special French and Italian classics.
Our tips: Don’t miss the artichoke alla Juliet, a famous Italian dish popular among the Jewish community in Italy. And of course, the vanilla cake is a must-eat to end the night.
Why we love it: Considered the ultimate “Home Away From Home” for many celebrities and icons like Jackie Kennedy, the Carlyle is one of the city’s greatest classics. In the heart of the Upper East Side, the hotel is legendary for its first-class service and unique spaces.
Why we love it: The Mark is the The Best Place To Be during the MET’s annual ball, as many celebrities stay and prepare for the big event there. Iconic for its service and the numerous hotspots it features, the hotel has 106 rooms and 47 suites ready to welcome you.
Why we love it: The Four Seasons Downtown is a highlight on our list. Besides being the backdrop for the Lifestyle Mag issue with Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, the hotel is a great option for those who want to spend more time in Soho, West Village, and the surroundings of the Big Apple.
